12:15 pm - 12:55 pm
Hosted By Pinch Social
BrainStation

Join us for a lunch and learn as we sit down with three recruitment experts who know the digital and social media hiring landscape inside out. What are some of the top skills and qualifications employers are looking for in a social media professional? What do we need to know to keep our skills and qualifications sharp? What is the career outlook in this rapidly changing field? We’ll answer these questions and more.

About Cheli Nolan:

As an integral part of the People Team at Wattpad, the global multiplatform entertainment company, Cheli builds teams for Wattpad’s entire brand banner. Cheli works closely with Wattpad’s leaders to source, attract and retain the industry’s top talent. Prior to Wattpad, Cheli worked at The Creative Group, where she was ranked in the top ten recruiters across North America.

About Mark Rouse:

Mark leads Canada’s largest Marketing Communications & Media recruitment practice. Leveraging close to two decades of industry experience in the Marketing Services and Agency businesses, he has been responsible for hiring, developing, and retaining top talent as Vice-President with companies such as Young & Rubicam, Wunderman, and J. Walter Thompson.

Early in his career, Mark accepted the simple truth that people are any company’s greatest asset, leaning towards the role of a recruiter. Working on that basis, he has developed strong skills and a genuine passion for finding smart people that add to the strength of the team; that offer the right blend of competency and compatibility; that can have a positive affect not only on their employer’s business but on their own careers.

About Sharon Alderson:

As Creative Niche’s Global Lead, her career as a Nicher kicked off in May, 2010, after working as a recruiter at two renowned search firms—positions that provided the global recruitment background and knowledge she leverages every day in her current position. Ultimately, it was that natural inquisitiveness and ability to adapt to any situation that attracted Sharon to the recruitment field in the first place. As she puts it, there is a limitless amount of ‘stuff’ to learn about candidates, clients and the evolution of technology. Staying on top of it all is a challenge she’s embraced wholeheartedly.
