In 2016, Social Media Week made its comeback to Toronto with SMWiTO, organized independently by Pinch Social agency. We came, we socialed, and we conquered. In total, over 600 people attended the event in Toronto last year as #SMWiTO trended nation wide with nearly 100 million impressions on Twitter. Our event saw talks and workshops from Twitter, Buzzfeed, CBC, lifestyle brands, banks, telecoms and startups, along with tours of Google, 500px, the AGO and many more, generating buzz across social and mainstream media.
This year our event will run in Toronto during the November edition of Social Media Week, alongside cities like Chicago, Rome and Dubai.
Taking place the week of November 13th (from Monday, November 13th until Friday, November 17th), our event will kick off with a full day of keynote talks and special presentations at our new theatre venue, CBC’s stunning Glenn Gould Studio.
Tuesday and Wednesday, our partners at BrainStation Toronto will host two full days of workshops, panel talks and masterclasses. Special sessions and networking events will also take place at Pinch Socail HQ, courtesy of our partners, co-working community BrightLane Inc.
As always, SMWi pass holders will also have the opportunity to attend parties, networking and social events, and special events at offsite partner locations throughout the city.
Our programming will start to roll out late September to early October. In the meantime, early bird tickets will go on sale mid-September – get ready because passes are limited and will go fast!
